Donald Verger has made some of the most extraordinary and celebrated images of Lighthouses and the skies and waters that surround them.

Don has taken thousands of photos in the earliest of light and in temperatures below zero throughout the winters at Portland Head Light, and has also made wonderful images of the skies and clouds that surround Nubble Light Lighthouse in York Beach Maine as well as Ram Light and Marshall Point Light.

  • This image was made on the dawn following a wild stormy night. At sunrise the clouds began to break illuminating the rising sun. This image is evocative of the beauty and feel of Dawn Of Peace, an image that has been donated by Donald Verger to benefit children by UNICEF and sold for $1,000.





















  • This photograph captures the power and beauty of the Atlantic Ocean as it comes to shore after a wild storm at Portland Head Light, Cape Elizabeth, Maine. The wave is echoed by a lovely blue sky with pretty clouds whose whiteness and form is so similar to the water. Also seen is the end of another wave that is cascading down the large rocks that protect the lighthouse.
